Caity McConnell, LPCC
Counseling Intern
My name is Caity and I am working as an intern at Creekside while I pursue my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado. I have over 7 years of related work experience in the Mental Health field and I am passionate about helping clients improve their mental health, overall well-being, and interpersonal relationships. I primarily utilize client-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. I believe counseling is a craft and the process can be serious and fun, healing and challenging, conventional and unconventional. I operate from a perspective that the primary purpose of therapy is to empower clients to learn how to help themselves and achieve their treatment goals.
I have worked with a variety of populations including children, adolescents, and adults and have experience working with a variety of diagnoses and concerns. I have also worked in a variety of settings, including subacute treatment, inpatient hospitals, residential facilities, detox center, and a walk-in crisis center. I earned my B.S. in Psychology at North Dakota State University before moving to Colorado. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree at UNC’s extended Denver campus. I hope to use my experience and education to help clients receive effective and therapeutic care in a welcoming and open-minded setting.
