Zachary Melman, MBA
Counseling Intern
Hello! My name is Zachary, and I believe taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage and self-awareness. I view therapy as a collaborative process built on trust,
curiosity, and authenticity. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe
enough to explore their experiences openly while also feeling challenged and supported in ways that foster growth, insight, and self-understanding.
As a graduate student at the University of Northern Colorado, my academic experience has led me toward a client-centered approach to therapy while integrating aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based therapy. I believe it is important for clients to identify meaningful goals and develop a strong understanding of their personal values early in the counseling process. By using each client's goals and therapeutic objectives as a guide, I strive to help clients stay focused, intentional, and connected to the progress they hope to achieve throughout our work together. While I am open to working with a variety of clients and concerns, I feel passionate about supporting adolescents, adults, and veterans navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and past trauma.
I have always considered myself an athlete and enjoyed playing sports throughout my
school years. I am also a Navy veteran who served in the submarine force, and in my free
time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, and spending time with my family.
