CARE BUILT AROUND YOUR NEEDS
A collaborative approach to psychiatric medication care
Medication management includes discussing your concerns, considering treatment options, and reviewing how a medication is working when one is prescribed. Your goals, health history, preferences, and questions are part of that conversation.
You do not need to receive therapy at Creekside to ask about medication management. If you also work with a therapist, discuss care coordination with your prescriber and any authorization needed to share information.
Medication decisions are individualized. An appointment does not guarantee a prescription or a particular medication.
What to expect
Your first appointment
An initial visit provides time to discuss what brought you in, your mental and physical health history, prior treatment, and current medications or supplements. Bring your questions and information about medications you have tried.
Initial medication management appointments are generally 40–60 minutes; confirm the time reserved for your provider and visit.
Follow-up appointments
If medication is part of your plan, follow-ups give you and your prescriber an opportunity to discuss symptoms, possible benefits, side effects, and next steps.
Medication follow-ups are generally 20–30 minutes. Your provider will discuss follow-up timing based on your care needs.
Finding the right provider and appointment
Age groups and areas of focus
Age groups and clinical focus vary by prescriber. For example, Holly Ellis’s published profile includes children age five and older, adolescents, and adults. Sarah Paston’s published areas of focus include depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
Review the profiles below and tell our client care team about the age group and concerns you would like help with. They can help you explore an appropriate provider and current availability.
In-person and telehealth options
Creekside offers in-person and telehealth appointments. The options for medication care depend on the prescriber and your situation; our client care team will confirm the appropriate appointment format.

Insurance and self-pay
Insurance participation varies by prescriber. Visit our Insurance page, then confirm the provider’s participation and your benefits with our client care team and your insurer.
Self-pay is also available. Ask the office about the fees for your selected provider and service, and review Good Faith Estimate information if you are uninsured or paying without insurance.
Questions about getting started
Can I book medication management online?
Do I need therapy at Creekside too?
No. You can receive therapy, medication management, or both. Discuss coordination with any outside therapist or other professionals with your prescriber.
Is the intake process different for Medicaid clients?
Yes. Medicaid clients meet with an intake clinician before the first appointment with their ongoing therapist or prescriber. Our client care team will help arrange these appointments and explain the process.
What paperwork should I complete?
Our team will send the forms needed for your care through IntakeQ. Please complete the forms sent to you before your first appointment, and tell us if you need another way to complete them. Visit our paperwork FAQ or Notices & Forms for more information.
