Lauri Exley, BA
Counseling Intern

Hi! My name is Lauri and I consider counseling to be about creating a space of trust and safety, where each client’s needs and goals are placed at the center of the process. My approach is to utilize psychoanalytic counseling mixed with cognitive behavioral therapy as the foundation upon which to build a strong client-counselor relationship. I believe every client deserves the right to be heard and valued as an individual, and each person’s story is unique.

I am currently working to obtain my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health at Adams State University and earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Communication from Arizona State University. Although this is a later-in-life career change, I intend to use my long history of working with people and building relationships to make my clients feel safe, comfortable, and heard.

In my spare time, I like spending time with my family and friends, binging Netflix, hiking, reading, and baking goodies with my daughter. I look forward to helping clients feel empowered throughout their mental wellness journey.
