Kiana Portillo, MA
LPCC

Hi! My name is Kiana, and I graduated from the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Northern Colorado in 2024. I have a background in pediatric mental health, having worked at Children’s Hospital’s inpatient psychiatric unit, and I especially enjoy working with children and adolescents.

As a therapist at Creekside Collaborative Therapy, my goal is to create a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship that allows for safe self-expression and meaningful personal growth. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered, while incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and am trained in Brainspotting.

I also specialize in integrating spirituality into the therapeutic process for clients who draw strength, guidance, or meaning from their spiritual or faith-based beliefs. These conversations are welcomed and honored in our work together. Additionally, I am passionate about supporting individuals living with chronic illness, holding space for the complex emotional, physical, and identity challenges that can arise while helping clients build resilience and self-compassion.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga, baking, reading, watching scary movies, binge-watching reality TV, and spending time with my friends, family, and two cats, Winston and Gus.

I’m honored to be part of my clients’ journeys as they learn, heal, and grow into the most authentic versions of themselves.
