Eyde Cerda, BA
Counseling Intern
My name is Eyde, and I value connection and understanding as important factors for lasting change. I believe that a meaningful future does not require a perfect past, that all stories are worth sharing, and that it is never too late to turn the page.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from Arizona State University and am currently completing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Louisiana Monroe. My educational background and previous work as a birth doula continue to inform my understanding of intersectionality and how the systems we exist in impact our lived experiences.
In therapy, I take a person-centered approach, holding the belief that we are the experts on our own lives. I enjoy implementing parts work through Internal Family Systems (IFS), exploring values and actions through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and incorporating creative approaches that help express experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, major life transitions, and relationship concerns. I also enjoy working with pregnant and postpartum people, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals processing religious trauma.
Outside of this space, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, very slowly learning piano, and spending time with my wife as we try out new recipes and tend to our amateur garden.
