Katie is a Licensed Professional Therapist in the state of Colorado. Her therapeutic approach can best be described as a trauma-informed, strengths-based psychotherapy, as it integrates a comprehensive understanding of the prevalence and impact trauma plays in the daily functioning of clients and their families. Katie focuses on empowering her clients to focus on their resiliency and the strengths they have developed to survive, by supporting and guiding them through the therapeutic process without experiencing re-traumatization. Katie's clinical experience over the past 12 years includes working as a Behavioral Health Specialist for young men in a correctional setting, a therapist in a community-based and Intensive In-Home Therapy program, a therapist in a community mental health agency’s day treatment program, an Intake Specialist for court appointed juveniles and conducted research within the mental health field as a graduate student. Katie's current role at Creekside Collaborative Therapy is as an Intake Specialist for Medicaid clients.
