Michelle Lefco-Rockey,
LCSW, CYT
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over 22 years of experience in the mental health field. I began my career in the Milwaukee area providing home-based therapy to children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral needs. While in Milwaukee I also worked in a residential treatment center for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. I moved to Colorado in 2000 and worked for several years at The Children's Hospital on the inpatient units, in the day treatment program and in the Emergency Department. In 2007, I began working at a day treatment program for children & adolescents with Individual Education Plans for Serious Identifiable Emotional Disabilities. In 2007 I also began a part-time private practice. I expanded my private practice in June 2013 and in July 2013 I co-founded Creekside Collaborative Therapy: A Network of Trauma-Informed Clinicians. In 2017, I also co-founded B.R.A.V.E. Retreats. B.R.A.V.E. Retreats provides therapy and wellness retreats to women, professionals, and teens.
While I enjoy working with clients of all ages with various mental health issues, over the past several years I have developed a special interest in working with clients who have experienced trauma. I have training in EMDR, DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT and use my knowledge in these areas to help clients make progress on their treatment goals. I also enjoy using right-brained modalities such as art, music and guided imagery in sessions. In addition, I focus on somatic interventions as part of working through trauma. In 2018, I became a Certified Yoga Teacher with a specialty in Restorative Yoga. I use this evidenced-based practice for trauma, anxiety, and depression in both group and individual settings. In addition, in 2020 I became certified in the Safe & Sound Protocol by Dr. Stephen Porges. I provide SSP both individually and in groups. I am certified to provide this intervention both remotely and in-person. As of June 2021, I am also trained in Brainspotting. Brainspotting is an intervention that uses a person's visual field to process trauma and other issues. I am in-network with Cigna, Anthem BCBS, Tricare, Triwest, United Healthcare, Bright Health, and Medicaid.
